Event Report: GAL-O-WEEN party at Royal/T!

27 Oct

Yesterday, October 27, 2011, Chubby Bunny was invited to participate as a sponsor and vendor at the Halloween-themed Gal-O-Ween fashion show and party at Royal/T!

The event was put on by Tune In Tokyo, who hold monthly events at Royal/T featuring their DJs and lots of Japan-inspired content. This time, the  KIMIMELA GALS circle teamed up to create a fun fashion show and party night! Also, Japanese pop artist MOOMA was present for a special performance! Below are some pics and thoughts from the night!

Chubby Bunny recently ramped up our booth setup for this event, and we were excited to take our new display fixtures on a test run!

Items for sale from Chubby Bunny! You can spot the new Chubby Polka dot bows in mint and pink to the right!Photo by Argot & Ochre.

Our new Clearly Cute bows, featuring a dazzling mix of rhinestones, pom poms, and pink and blue soldiers inside of this vinyl bow headband! Photo by Argot & Ochre.

I made this witch hat in 10 minutes and threw on some other clothes I had laying around to be a Pink Witch! Outfit totally inspired by Sugar Sugar Rune!

My awesome friend Callie popped by to help me run the booth for the night! Check out her badass buzz lightyear costume!

Chubby Bunny sponsored one of the raffle prizes for the party! This lucky sailor won a neon orange Chubby Bunny tank top.. that we are hoping he ended up giving to his girlfriend afterwards ❤

Japanese recording artist Mooma showed up for a special performance and autograph session.

Models from the fashion show line up for a photo op after the show! The clothing they are wearing is from ShibuyaLA.

It was a super fun show with lots of friends & fans stopping by the booth!  And, it really got me in the mood for HALLOWEEN, which is totally one of my favorite holidays that I almost never get to celebrate because I get so busy in the fall! But not this year! I am doing my best to make time for Halloween! ❤

You can see more photos from the night on our Flickr!

Also, you can see more pics and event report on our buddy Argot & Ochre’s website!

Shopping Secrets: Garb for Ghouls

15 Sep

Well, not really JUST for ghouls, but on a whim, I scoped out the new costumes available at It’s A Wrap on Robertson Blvd this past weekend, to see what goodies had their way to the store.

It’s a Wrap carries wardrobe and props that movie studios no longer need. Currently, there’s a ton of Prince of Persia stuff (stinky leather & gauntlets! yay!), Armour, and period coats and gowns available, along with a selection of the old standards from TV shows, such as cheerleader outfits, police uniforms, native American garb, and the like.

Here’s a quick rundown of what’s in stock there, and my favorites!

This glittery masterpiece was $300. Over the Rainbow indeed! Didn't check which show this was used on because it was so high up!

Photos of the costume-y madness after the jump

Pearly boobies anyone? There were a lot of harem girl-type outfits here. Perfect for any "sexy" version of anything! Or just for wearing out. Vavoom!

Such a cute pink, low backed corslet! It was only $18 so I got it ❤ Excuse the cowgirl skirt. I was considering going as a cowboy to an "Indian Summer" party this weekend haha.

Lots of pretty period costumes for men and women! Some of the prices for the historical stuff can be kinda steep though, ranging from $130 and upwards, but if you're into these outfits the quality on most of them was very good (not super torn up, etc).

Leftover gauntlets from Prince of Persia. There was a ton of armour and boots from the film still available, some slightly stinking of the men who wore them last, woo hoo!

You can see the colors in this photo, but this was a beautiful iridescent material that was blue, pink, and cream colored. I wanted to be a fairyyyy! haha. Couldn't justify the purchase, but the dress was $30 and is probably still there if anyone wants it.

Outside in the back they had racks and racks of crazy costumes that were more out there. Check out this fancy jacket. I hated it and loved it at the same time.

This pretty little outfit was so cute! unfortunately, it was made for a tiny dancer type of lady and did not fit on my gigundo ribcage haha.

There were tons more outfits available, so if you’re pondering what to be for Halloween, you may as well hit it up instead of buying those ugly bagged slutty slut costumes that you usually see at the costume store! They have multiple locations, Burbank being the biggest, so make sure you stop by!

Our pets say: Happy Halloween!

30 Oct

Happy Halloween from our pets!

Peeker is orange, so we thought, hey he’s already pumpkin-colored…!

And Niblet makes a fantastic witch ❤

Peeker didn’t enjoy being a witch though. In face, I think he hated it a lot. Hahaha.

EDIT: True Mee came home with this epic WHITE RABBIT from Alice in Wonderland costume for peeker! HAHAHAH.
