Meet the Artist: Misha: Swan-neck beauty of LA

19 Apr

All of the artists I chosen for the Bunnies & Bows event have influenced me on a creative, professional, or personal level in some way.  I’ll be introducing some of the artists who have been sending me in their progress shots for the Bunnies & Bows gallery (debut & opening party May 7!) here!

Misha

Misha’s a no-nonsense artist from Los Angeles, whose attitude is immediately apparent from her Facebook name, which she lists as “Misha Noneofyobusiness.”  Misha is a unique spirit, sporting face tattooes in a cute style, by using sweet colors and usually wearing bright makeup. Besides putting art down on paper, Misha is also a very talented and experienced tattoo artist, and currently works at Zulu Tattoo. Misha is a super sweet girl , with an amazing smile, and the kindest of hearts! I’m very very excited for her to be joining “Bunnies & Bows!”

Her work usually features big-eyed femmes, with craning and arching necks. Some of my favorite works of Misha’s are ones where she use her amazing flocking techniques.

Misha’s official bio:
Misha’s art is a fusion of Japanese Anime, Hindu and Buddhist religious imagery, and traditional tattoo design. Her favorite subjects to paint are mermaids, pin-ups, geishas, and monsters; preferable a mix of at least two of them at once. She also enjoys the dichotomy of having a monster look cute and sweet. Her paintings and drawings are not based in reality, but instead she creates a world where even monsters are cute and the world is a happy place, seeing the people not as they are, but as cartoon characters.

Some of Mishas past work.

For “Bunnies & Bows,” Misha is working on an EPIC piece, complete with.. DUH DUH DUHHHH flocking! I’m so excited to see her completed work! It’s looking PRETTY AWESOME!
