Thanks very much to YumeNinja for use of her camera and cute photos for this post!
On my birthday last Thursday, we went out for a little celebration at The Standard Rooftop Bar. I chose this place based on the beautiful views of Los Angeles, though the drinks were pretty so so, the company was great!
My friends kindly battled the warrior known as downtown parking and dubious signage to come and join me, and have a good time relaxing. Thanks to my lovely friends! =D My only regret is that I didn’t take more photos… eek!
Some photos of fabulous times after the jump…
We mosied on over and the area by the pool was empty enough for us to feel like we had the place to ourselves for a bit!
Later on, we went to the downstairs lobby to eat some yummy birthday cake… The Standard won’t let you bring a cake nor presents that involve alcohol up to the roof… wankers!
Overall, we had a great night, and I’m glad I finally got a chance to see the amazing skyline from the roof! Word to the wise though, if you’re looking for a good drink, and good service, this is probably not the best spot. Management here is pretty stuffy, and the drinks are made with the average club bro and gal in mind. Sad! With better cocktails and friendlier bar staff, this could almost be a classy joint! If you’re looking for a nice view, though, then I recommend this place during the week for some nice relaxing times. Beware the weekend cover charge Friday through Sunday, though. Not worth it! But Monday through Thursday there’s no cover, and less people 🙂
Thanks for a rockin’ birthday everyone!
